Inspiration, satisfaction and happiness... all over the World

Disciplining yourself to do what you know is right and important, although difficult,
is the highroad to pride, self-esteem, and personal satisfaction.

PHILIPSFABRIEKEN
 Charles Eyck, 1948

Welcome to my blog and... first post!

Satisfaction, effectiveness, creativity, and joy: 4 words which describe me the best.

First of all, what is the most important for me is to be satisfied – at work, in relationships and during free time: to be inspired by new ideas, places, and people. As an engineer, structures and results do matter for me, so I try to be as effective as possible. Creativity and joy are a great couple- I can not imagine working “like a robot”: repetitive, boring work, lack of any personal input, fun, joy or satisfaction…

2 months ago I saw a “heartbreaking” offer at https://jobs.philips.com...

It was “Leadership, Talent, Organizational Effectiveness Internship” unfortunately … in Amsterdam. I need to tell you, that I am really impressed by all achievements, innovations, way of working at Philips: this organization, with its strong vision, changed our lives and created millions of opportunities for growth within 127 years.

And I would like to be a part of their history…

2 days ago I saw a “heartbreaking” painting in the Van Abbe Museum – “PHILIPSFABRIEKEN”, made by Charles Eyck in 1948. In this painting, you can see several constructed buildings as well as two which are still under construction. What inspired me the most is an unoccupied free space in the center of this painting: horizon which is kind of representation of new possibilities, development, and open mind…

That is why I started to write this blog – just to find out how to find a satisfying job and maybe even be a part of Philip’s Team... For me being satisfied at work means same as be happy– have fun, joy, achievements…

BUT… is work with satisfaction a ”part of happiness” for other people?
I need to find it out!

I almost finished my studies of Psychology in Management, I would like to find a “perfect” job, but in order to do it effectively, I should prepare myself first to be successful – I should find an answer to some questions (and I hope that my intercultural classmates are a great source or right answers ;)

Is there something I need to know before going to an interview?
Is working in Poland similar to the one in any other country in Europe or Asia?
How should I behave and what is expected of me as an employee?
Are there any “unwritten rules” I need to know to get a promotion or even be hired?

I am really curious what does job satisfaction ( and happiness) mean to you? Is there any correlation between them or maybe you just need to have stable position and satisfaction can be reached in other parts of your life?

I am waiting for your comments and wish you a great weekend!

Cheers,
Natalia
